Dosing for Corid & Valbazen

I have a sick 4.5 year old Cali White. I posted a thread a few days ago and didn’t get any responses (See Post Here). I’m going to dose her with Valbazen and Corid. What’s the dosing amount for each medicine and what is dosing schedule (4mL/day for 3 days, etc)? I have found conflicting dosing info, so I’d like to know the proper dosing for each.

I’ve seen dosing on here for Valbazen 0.5mL for an average size chicken, dose once, then dose once again in 10 days. Another forum said 0.08mL/lb of body weight, once a day for 3-5 days, then repeat the same dosing in 10 days.

For Corid 9.6% liquid, I’ve seen dose 2 tsp/gal for 7 days, then 1/2tsp for 5 days. I’ve also seen 1tsp/quart for 14 days. I’m assuming for Corid that this chart is accurate: Corid Dosing

You have to weigh the chicken to get the right dose. For Valbazen (11.36% Albendazole) the dose is 0.08 ml per lb of chicken. Dose once, then dose again in 10 days for roundworms. Gapeworms require you to dose for 3 days in a row, then repeat in 10 days.

If I’m not sure what worms she has, what do you recommend for dosing? I’d like to kill all potential worms since I’m not sure what she has.

I'd say give it for 3 days in a row, then repeat, since it's never been dewormed. I forgot about tapeworms, which I think Valbazen works on too, but not sure. @dawg53 can say for sure.

Hm ok. Would dosing her with Valbazen overload her system? I’ve been reading some info about dosing with Wazine first to reduce the worm load, then dosing with Valbazen a few days later. I don’t want to kill her by dosing with Valbazen once or three days in a row if she does have worms. Just seems like there’s conflicting information and without an avian/poultry vet to consult, I’m not sure what to do. I actually just sent a PM to dawg53 to get some clarification.

Valbazen slowly kills the worms over a few days time, no need to worry about that. You have one of the better de-wormer medicines.
