Can you get him on a vitamin E supplement? That crookedness looks almost wry-necked.

He was born with the neck thing so it’s definitely unrelated to the slip but I can give it a try! What should I use to supplement?

EDIT: did some googling and it says wry necked babies can’t hold their head up on their own which isn’t the case with him, it doesn’t seem to effect him besides his looks

Wry neck can be hereditary and at hatch.

Do you have access to Nutridrench? That has a lot of vitamins in it to help, vitamin E being one. I can see what else might be just straight E, give me a second.

No clue what that is but I’ll look it up! Just googled a little and apparently certain herbs like basil and parsley have lots of vitamin E so I’ll give those a try!

I was looking at other ducklings with similar symptoms and they aren’t wry-necked. I don’t think the vitamins won’t help, but they probably won’t do much either. No one ever followed up on the ducklings either so I don’t know how they ended up progressing.

This works too, but only give 2-3 drops of it. Make sure it’s the Poly Vi Sol without iron.

I didn’t think so, he doesn’t seem to have trouble holding his head up, he’s just a little crooked. Honestly as long as he’s happy and doesn’t have pain I couldn’t care less what he looks like, they’ll always be my little babies! It’s probably be my fault anyway for leaving him in his egg too long :(
I’ll definitely add some herbs to their diet though just to be sure. Vitamins can’t hurt right!

Thank you!! I’ll definitely get some just in case. What should I get for electrolytes? I’ve heard people use those too if their babies are sick. I’m sure Gatorade won’t do LOL

They can if overdosed (difficult if in diet only), but electrolyte toxicity will lead to seizures. We accidentally did that with our duckling, so she started having seizures. Took her off the nutridrench and she was fine.

He’s probably okay, and you said he’s growing fine. May lead to problems later in life but that’s just a maybe too.
