Doublewide Dwellers?

We live near Sacramento Ca. We really wanted to get away from living right next door to our neighbors in a track home. So we started looking for land. We found a cute little three acre plot in a quaint little town. It was way expensive and the only way we could afford to build was to put on a manufactured home.

It's about 1800 sq ft and has four bedrooms and two baths.

My only regret is i wish we had it pit set. I thought we were but when all was said and done......it wasn't. :|


We just got our sprinkler system put in so i can't wait to get some bushes and flowers growing in the front of the house.

We have been renting a dblwide 3 bdr/ 2 ba 2065 sq ft on 2.5 acres for about a year and a half. It is okay except the heating in the winter. Crap for heat system and electric in winter runs well over 400.00 per month. We are backed into the side of a mountain so the yard is primarily UPHILL. But we are moving into a 3/2 on 4 acres we are leasing to own August 1st.

My family and I reside in a 4 BR/ 2 BA Mobile home on 1.2 acres, wish we could have gotton more

but that's O.K. We are going to use every square inch of the property.
We have lived here for 6 yrs now and the only issue, other than the neighbors, is we are on a hill and we catch the blunt of all storms. But we do have a great view. We can see the Blue Ridge Mtns fom our back porch and we live an hour away.

There's a 'modular home' over in the town I grew up in (I'm too poor to live there now!) that's on the market for $1.1 million now. It made the papers when they were putting it together, it came in five pieces. There are others in our area. You'd never know they were manufactured homes. As someone upthread said, modular or manufactured homes have come a long way!

we have a 3 B/R,2 bath double wide, On my DD 27acre on the side of a mountain.After living in Fla on flat and, it sure was a change to move to straight up mountain land. marrie

since ours is insulated so well, we can turn the heat OFF in the dead of winter and it still is 60 degrees inside the house, and with the double windows we have we can't hear hardly anything unless one of the windows is open. with the celing fans ithelpson the cooking in the heat of summer to

we have a double wide on just under an acre. pain to cool though, in fact it's a stove in the summer. but i'm glad to be out of town and we are thinking of building a stone house when we get some more land. i want to spruce up the outside as with the shifting the skirting is blowing off during all the storms we've had this year. we tried to put it back on but the frame thing it sits in is all warped. i'm not explaining this well. point is the whole country is gonna start living under the thing!

The houses we live in are on our website. We lived in all kind of houses. Really expensives one , really cheap ones , beautifull places.
It is not about the house you live in, it is about the people that live in the house that's make it a home.
Our home is were our heart is and that is werever my family is.
If God put us in a box, stone house what ever, we will be thankfull because we are alive and love living it. God bless you all with all your beautifull homes.

we bought a doublewide after katrina decided the single wide didn't need a roof anymore.

3 bedroom/2 bath. for some reason we decided to have carpet thoughout---9 dogs and 6 cats convinced us a year later to install laminate flooring. we "upgraded" the insulation and windows, the electric is way less than we thought it would be. the only drawback we have found is it is still a mobilehome and we still live in a hurricane prone area. oh PLUUUUSS it has a fireplace!!

Our home has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, huge kitchen, dinning room and living room are wide open , nice laundry room, and a little nook we keep computer in. We are setting on Moma & Daddy's 42 acres.We had a 3/2/1 brick home and I hated it and when I got to pick this home out I got just what I wanted~wide open spaces!! I will have to get pictures later to share with yall if'n you want to see this place.

We have a 2001 sq.ft double wide on 10 acres. When we moved up to North Florida from Ft Lauderdale, there wasnt time to build. Our home has four bedrooms,2 baths a laundry room, retreat, and a very large kitchen. We ordered it with more insulation and double windows so the heating and cooling is cheaper.We decided to buy a mobile because we didnt want a hugh mortgage payment. The lands paid off and we are paying off the mobile home. With the economy the way it is I am very happy with my low monthly payments. Thank you very much.lol
