I do know that Leghorns have white earlobes. I did a quick search here on BYC and others have asked the same question on whether they got Leghorns instead of Delaware's, they obviously feather out just before maturity.

Thanks how well I know they don’t know. I’ve seen them go through that molt period lots of times and it always fools you I call it the ugly stage I usually order my chicks from a Hatchery but all were booked up till almost August and I don’t like raising baby chicks in the summer months and I wasn’t sure my 3 year old Rooster still making fertile eggs I had in the Incubator boy I was wrong about him he still has it lol . I guess the panic of high egg prices overwhelmed these hatchery’s never in my 26 years raising chicks I’ve see them do that. Crazy times. The people that work at these places are not experts, there is no guarantee what the label says on the bins is what you are getting. This said, its too early to say yet, chicks will molt 6 or 7 times yet until they are mature. Colors can look off until then. Not to worry yet!
Thanks for the leg work guess I’ll find out it doesn’t matter if they are it will just give me more color in the nesting boxes.I do know that Leghorns have white earlobes. I’m thinking he’s a Brown Sex Link from what I can gather I might be wrong. He has always been my favorite since he was a baby chick he’s never tried to attack me and has a very good nature about him and protects his ladies well. Thanks for the complementGorgeous flock!
