Dougie has hurt herself again!

That's interesting. 🤔 Only other thing negative I'm thinking that would cause that would be worms.
She could just have a faster metabolism. 🤷‍♀️
I considered that, but due to her always being this way (opposed to suddenly losing weight), and due to her sisters healthy weight, I doubt it.
I wonder about the metabolism, I have the same issue lol

Speaking of all this, shes a little off her food now, so I'll make her some scrambled eggs this afternoon

Oh, Dougie.... Sigh....

I wonder if clipping her wing may help. I'm impressed she can even make the attempt! Most of my duckies (outside of the Runner and my Calls) are so plump - think watermelons with wings. They're not fat. They're just... large. And solid.
Perhaps, but she can only get as high as a metre and just drops down like a rock, cant make any distance really, so I'm not sure how much clipping would help. Wouldnt she still be able to fly up onto low down things, or would she be totally grounded?

They used to be able to fly a couple metres when they were younger! Until they started laying.

She's feeling a fair bit better this afternoon! Healing faster than last time. She's seemingly in quite a good mood, too. She's no longer crawling or balancing with her wings, and is now pulling a little weight on her leg. Thats probably due to the pain relief, but its good as she's not putting all of her weight on one leg anymore (her toes were looking pretty sore before due to it).
Still crated so that she can't run around, but she is a little restless. Once she's improved a bit more, I'll maybe let her out for a little supervised walking. (she always enjoys this, and will happily sit next to me and nibble the grass). And depending on how well she's using her leg, I'll maybe let her stay out the crate. (As long as I can find a way to block her from flying onto anything!)

Just to note, I just went ahead and gave her some calcium, just in case. Her sister laid 3 in one day once so I'm always worried about egg binding. She has me pretty concerned!
Here is a video of her,
You can see that she is reluctant to walk on it. Poor girl is in pain, but guess whats on her mind? She's constantly laying down and being extremely flirtatious with her sister, and I too whenever I pet her. Honestly Dougie. 🙄
This is exactly what is going on with my duck right now. What was the outcome for your Dougie?

The vet confirmed it was a sprain and gave us some pain relief/anti inflammatory medicine.
she recovered within about 10 days, and youd not be able to tell she was ever hurt!

If you put your duck in the water, does she use the leg at all? If she is able to stretch it etc, its likely a tissue injury rather than a break, so would heal with time
