Drakes Eclipse/Nuptial Plumage pics

I have two KC drakes who are about 3 months old who are moulting. Will they keep their juvenile/eclipse plumage after this first moult, or will they go ahead and get their nuptial plumage?

I believe they will go ahead and molt into their nuptial plumage.

His spring plumage is gold!!!! So pretty!!!!

He’s not as gold as that looks, but most pics don’t show off his green head unless the sun is on him.
Here’s one from last fall

It’s that time of year again! New duck owners are sometimes surprised when their drakes’ plumage changes.
Anyone have any new pics to share?

This is my current pastel call drake, from earlier in the year, to yesterday. It will get worse. Lol

This post is amazing and full of helpful information! Looking forward to adding pictures of my Call & Aztec drakes whenever they experience their first molt into nuptial/eclipse plumage! My big/older ducks are white ~ Pekin and black ~ Cayuga, so no drastic changes for them 🤣 They are forced to love and take pride in themselves as is.
