She's been inside almost the whole time - huge storage bin with shavings, sheet of hardware cloth over the top.
I've been taking her outside only since she got better - 5 days ago? Couple of hours at a time in a small cage with open bottom, far from coop/run.
Insects can fly into the garage too. But I can get some screen to go under the hardware cloth to keep them out.
She's SO happy being outside though. If it's really essential I'll keep her in, but she's dealing with so much her state of mind seems to matter. She eats inside, but other than that, just stands mist of the time, or sleeps. Outside she sunbathes, scratches, runs back and forth, and is just happy. She's started perching on my fingers because I think she associates it with going outside, where before she never wanted anyone to pick her up.
