I know because an honest man admitted it on the thread after I looked at the pic.......the american class is usually the largest large fowl at the shows......the numbers are there at every show..........so as for grand master.....for me.....right around the corner..........btw....it hasn't been all that difficult

The American Class is larger than Asiatic?

ETA: Largest as far as bird weight, or numbers in the class?

I recently purchased a Duane Urch breeding pair of Buckeyes. I purchased them locally. Ill be gentle in what I say because the man I bought them from is a BYC'er. I have no way of "authenticating" that they are in fact Duane Urch birds. (However, that's why I bought them) But I would like some honest opinions of the pair while everyone has Urch buckeyes on their mind. Here are a few pix.

Let me refer you to the original question. It was a description of what makes his Buckeyes so awesome. Those who quickly rose to his defense were adamant in explaining that we shouldn't expect him to have show quality Buckeyes because he's running a hatchery, not a show string.

I was wondering if they were awesome due to egg-laying ability, fecundity, dual-purpose, whatever. The most glowing report I've seen so far is that they are "adequate in type." I guess that's awesome if one is used to inadequate birds, but that does beg the question, doesn't it?

So please put me to shame NYREDS. Show me where he has done with Buckeyes what he has done with his other winning fowl.

Where do I get off? At the 2012 Ohio National. Duane was there judging. Don't recall any of his Buckeyes getting awards. If they did, please correct me.
I think you need to think about this for a second... if he was Judging he surely couldn't show.....

I'm surprised you dint think they are awesome, looking at your birds.... I think that most of the people are more noting the fact that he is an excellent breeder for the fact that he has kept these Buckeyes going, also there are very very few breeders that I know of that can not trace their birds back to Urch birds.
So please put me to shame NYREDS. Show me where he has done with Buckeyes what he has done with his other winning fowl.
