My Mille Fleur are the oldest (not sure how old though) and not looking even close. Someone in the banty pen is laying though! Such adorable tiny eggies They look too white to be D’Uccle eggs though

Silkies, a Light Brahma, two barred OEGB or Barred Rocks. No one has been able to tell the difference since they’re Tractor Surprise lol. They’re all a month or more older than the D’Uccle

Silkies, a Light Brahma, two barred OEGB or Barred Rocks. No one has been able to tell the difference since they’re Tractor Surprise lol. They’re all a month or more older than the D’Uccle

The silkie eggs are a little more oval than the duccles.. duccles are slightly pointier at the small end. My silkies and duccles started laying at the same time, and they were all hatchery too.. can you line the eggs up next to each other?

I’ve been watching my younger trio for eggs. They are right at 22 weeks now. I also have new babies in my porcelain pen, just hatching over the past few days. Found a couple pecked to death, but 5 alive and well so far.

I also ran across my ABA book, here is the standard for d’uccles

I’ve been watching my younger trio for eggs. They are right at 22 weeks now. I also have new babies in my porcelain pen, just hatching over the past few days. Found a couple pecked to death, but 5 alive and well so far.

Luckily it was the first couple that hatched, the later ones seem to be ok, so maybe the new momma was just shocked or something. Could have even been killed by a rooster, and momma hard to learn to protect them. I have no idea. But things seem better now. Stuff happens.
Two girls were sitting together, one has emerged with the first 5 chicks, the other one is staying on the nest. I haven’t checked all the eggs they are on.
