Pics
Here they are, I can see who is what, for sure one boy 4 girls. One girl was on the floor cuddling with the Silkies but she is also a she. Thay are super sweet and very tame, fit in perfect with the Silkies and Frizzles I hatched. They surprise me how up to the ceiling they get, Silkies are land lubbers!!!!
Are these going to get "speckles"?

I am sure some might but I have raised these before and the really beautiful colors come in after molt, though these are getting more color every day. They are still less than month old. They feathered out soooo much faster than Silkies at same age.
Might be hard to tell but look at the feathers they have had all ready compared to Silkies

Oh this is bad......I use pictures to really study my birds, I never noticed that only one little pullet has a nice muff!!!!!!!! From the baby pics I can see muffs but now as they grow I don't see what I'd like to see. From the last pic I posted...the one in front has a nice muff and still does but she was the biggest.
What do some other folks think, are muffs slow to grow?
In Silkies it is there at hatch! Pic of my chick to compare, [Silkie]

Yes, I believe that muffs can be slower to come in. I have an Ameraucana that is almost 8 weeks and until last week barely had any, so I was getting worried I got one with some bad traits. But now she’s all sorts of muffed out 😁 I do wonder though because my porcelain d’Uccles don’t have muffs at all and both parents had muffs, so I’m hoping the muff is a late arriving trait! Guess time will tell 😁
