Had a blast at the Newport show, even if Karl and Joe's birds got Best & Reserve of breed. I had already bought the Reserve bird, and her 2 sisters, for $5 each. What a deal!! I don't mind losing since it was to 2 of the best breeders around. I love it that I have Karl's self-blues added to my flock and can say my bloodlines are mixed with that of the d'Uccle club president!

Made up for the tough deal I got from Joe. He had a gorgeous black cockeral that he really didn't want to sell. Took the Goldneck trio to talk him into it.

So now I have new self blue pullets (3) and a new black cockeral. I fail at downsizing for winter, though LOL.

And one of my millie pullets took Best of Variety and one of my millie cockerals took Reserve of Variety. So, not a bad show day. Not bad at all!!

Except that I was supposed to be downsizing the flock for winter, and now have more birds in the pens than I did when I left. How does that happen????

i have to take a q-tip and dip it in water for him to drink. i really cant say if he will make it but he seems like he has the will to live right now, hasnt stopped trying to do anything but it wears him out.

Does anyone raise black d'Uccle? Do you have any pictures? I would really like to see some! I bet d'Uccles are beautiful in black....
