D'uccle Thread

I am not understand the difference between booted and non booted? Assuming it is more feathering on the leg? But a Duccle is not disqualified from judging if it has booting?? Thanks in advance for any answers

Are you talking about the difference between A D'Uccle and Booted Bantam? They both have feathering on their legs and feet. I would think non booted would be disqualifies in both.

Check out this web site and it will tell you the differences between the two.
page8 - Belgian d'Uccle and Booted Bantam Club
You can look at just D'Uccle or Just Booted bantam and it will give you disqualifier and more information for both breeds.

Is # mf roo molting or young or holding his tail funny? It looks a little short.
If he's young or molting, and hasn't finished growing in his tail or his colors, then he's my favorite based on these pics alone. #1 doesn't have enough black and #2's white patch bugs me. Are any of those chest featehrs all white? If so, that's a dq for showing.

Look at your pullets and see what flaws you think they have. Pick the male that has opposite flaws.
Which to keep........

So if I have it right P X P =F-1. Teddi these are from your birds. the colors are all over the place with these two. I have a Porcelain boy I want to put her with along with a couple of girls from this hatch. i have two unrelated Mille pullets that one of these two boys will get as mates. So what do you think? I'm going to see if I judged them the close to the same way. Thanks, Michele

MF #1 is the parent. I twas a fluke, I got over excited when I started getting eggs and started hatching. MF # 2, exactly what I thought way to much white, he is 17 weeks old. He's going. #3 he is at 13 weeks and the nicest roo I have in Mille's. No one is molting and I thought the same thing about the tail. I will keep an eye on it as he gets bigger. Thanks Michele

He's very young; I'm sure his tail will get bigger!

I finally got my first egg from a breeding pair today! So exciting, it's a mille roo and a porcelain hen. Hopefully I get more eggs in the next few days and I can fire up the new incubator.

Now all I have to rely on hopefully finding a roo that can cover my pullet :/ Although she is laying :) just have to wait for a show to come around to see what her flaws are.

I candled last night and I have some D'Uccles on day 8 that are comming along.
They are some more of the Lavendar improvement program as well as the lemon project which are all fertile.
It will be good to see the results of the lemon project after 2 years.
