D'uccle Thread

Thanks!
Best part was finding out I was essentially correct ;)

Thanks for the info Jaboo. And a lovely little man you have there, indeed. What do the hens looks like? Do you have a picture?

I've got the cock of a friend. He had only this cock. He stopped the breeding of d'Uccle bearded bantams.
This are the hens i have and the chicks.

My full sized birds roost on cut lenghts of saplings, 2" to 3" in diameter, in the coop, but the d'Uccles roost in the rafters of the coop, which are 4" to 6" peeled round beams. They fly to the lower roosts, 3' off the floor first, then up, as early as 5 or 6 weeks of age. Very athletic!

Here are pictures of the chicks(they're around 6 weeks old) that came from the trio(white roo with black hens) that I sold. There are some that just look like mille fleurs with bad coloring so I'm selling those.

OMG again i want them all they are so pretty

I don't use rods at all. I have 2x4's laid so that they can roost on the wider 4" side. However, given a choice between the broad side of a 2x4 or a platform, mine ALWAYS choose to sleep on the platform. And they do so all cuddled up, even in the summer....

Ok great thanks! I will go and get some boards for them then and keep the dowels for the parrots then :) thank you for the advice! I knew they wanted to roost, just didn't like what they had. They do love to cuddle too!!!

My babies are starting to feather nicely, here is the Penguin. Does anyone else think this could be a Blue Mille? I also have Mille Fleur with nice feathering starting. This is Angel since it is so sweet. A nice Blue Mottled. I'm now going through the hatch to see who will stay and who will be sold. So if I want to show some of these biddies, what do I need to do to keep the foot feathering nice, How would I house them. I would love to show at Ohio National Poultry show in November. Can someone tell me how to go about to start showing.
