I thought I'd already posted this, but can't find it anywhere. Lorilyn-you may be interested in a chick I hatched last week. It's from 2 golden neck parents, but this chick has a great many black dots on it like the mille fleur pattern. The base color looks like it's going to be very pale yellow. Too early to tell if it's male or female. So far the other golden neck chicks have no black at all.

This is a half/d'uccle, half silkie. The rose comb goes away, as does vulture hocks. the black skin and purple comb color stays for F1. Also, the mottling goes away.

The next gen, F2, black skin may or may not go, vulture hocks come back and mottling shows back up, but only on half the birds.

Thanks for the picture. I'm going to get pics of my 7 week old chicks and post some later today. I have some different feather patterns and colors. Lots of feathers on their heads and beards and muffs. Also pretty good feathering on legs and feet.

She throws lemon blue chicks, not normal buffs. She's a keeper!

She threw this little lemon silkie when mated back to my partridge silkie roo.
(The chick is the one to the far right, compared to my regular millie chicks)

A couple of the eggs that are hatching are going to be from this mating...two unique colors bred together!
I should get something REALLY bright from these two. Pumpkin color is a bit of a mystery.

All this in an effort to bring citron millie fleurs to American D'uccles! This is the ultimate goal...

She is so pretty. Can't wait to see pictures of what that breeding produces.

Okay, I'm one step further to bringing exotic colors to my d'uccles--I hatched out either a chocolate or dun d'uccle last light. Also born was a platinum, which is the dun and blue in same bird. It just depends on whether the chick is chocolate or dun.

Here are some of my 7 week old Silkie/d'Uccle chicks. They are out of Mille Fleur and Golden Neck d'Uccles and I think a white Silkie roo,.which I had re homed before these hatched. The only other roos I have are a splash and a partridge Silkie. Those boys just turned 6 months old this week. Out of my hatch, 2 are obviously cockerels as they always carried themselves differently, interacted with the other chicks in a different manner and then cinched my guess by crowing, which started 2 weeks ago. The ones I took pictures of, I'm hoping are pullets. I am intrigued by the various colors and feather patterns in these chicks.

One thing I noticed is that the 2 that are cockerels have a single comb and these 5 chicks in the pictures don't. The skin is black and the feathers are super soft. I didn't mean to breed these, as I thought my d'Uccles were only being courted by their own roo. What a surprise when half the eggs were mixed and the other half were d'Uccle's.
