D'uccle Thread

PeepsforMe, I really like the ones with the buff heads and partridgy bodies! It will be interesting to see what they look like as adults. What are their personalities like?

I feel the same way as to a fascination in how they are going to mature. I love the solid color heads and necks with the dark patterned bodies. Their personalities are interesting. They are not as lovable as my d'Uccle chicks that constantly fly onto my legs, arms and shoulders when I'm sitting with them. That being said, they are fine once picked up and love to eat treats out of my hands. They are quite active and play quite a bit, jumping from perch to perch and running around their enclosure.

I CAN ship if you really want her

I'm afraid it's too far away to ship her.

This is a half/d'uccle, half silkie. The rose comb goes away, as does vulture hocks. the black skin and purple comb color stays for F1. Also, the mottling goes away.

The next gen, F2, black skin may or may not go, vulture hocks come back and mottling shows back up, but only on half the birds.
this is my silkie/d'uccle first gen mom was a white silkie dad was a millie d'uccle

Anyone know of good breeder or hatchery that sells and ships sexed mille fleur d'uccle chicks? Need 'em soon for 4-H. Thanks.
Still looking...I'll also be at the PPBA/ABA meeting in Stockton if anyone will have chicks there by any chance. Live in northern NV, just so you know.

What I like about the silkies is that you can never really tell their color until you breed them to smooth. I had no idea mom, buff silkie, had such a beautiful pumpkin color until her daughter came out. Yours looks like they got that bright buff too.
