Yep, mottled d'uccles, and very pretty ones at that.

Since I'm on my F2 generation of lemon mille fleurs, I'm adding some new purebreed stock to breed to the F2's. I was able to hatch out another little chocolate cross, but she seems one step further away from the d'uccle standards, not closer. Momma must have snuch away from the purebreeds...

and little junior chocolate, mixed in with my lemon millies.

I just have the pair and plan on separating them into their own pen in the spring in hopes of some chicks. I don't know if they go broody since I don't have an incubator all I can do is wait and see. These two are Hannible and Clarice and they are super sweet chickens. They unfortunately are so tame that they are always under foot, not good, especially when I am bundled up so much that it's hard to see my feet lol. They eat out of my hand and will rest at my feet when I'm sitting. Clarice doesn't take any bull from the older, bigger girls she takes them on and does not get pushed around. She did lay in the late fall but stopped when it got cold, hopefully she will start to lay again soon. Thanks for reading my rambling. Lol :)

Nice!!

I am in Oklahoma and am looking for a Mille Fleur d'Uccle hen. I bought a pair this last weekend and I think the roo needs another girlfriend. Anyone know where I can get one or should I order some chicks and raise them up? Mine are 14 months old and within 5 minutes of watching them today he tried to breed her 2 times.

Lorilyn i'd be happy with any unwanted chocolate crosses lol. ;)

Ok here's my question: at what age did everyone's rooster's spurs grow in? Latest? The son of my 2 year spurless roo is 6+ mo now and still nubs. Dare i hope? If so it is time to breed him or dad to my project ees. :)

Then the question becomes who has the most potent genes him or dad? Son was an accidental inbreed with a brother sister. Does that give him a double dose of the gene???
