D'uccle Thread

How poor of type are hatchery d'Uccles, typically? Should I expect them to not have much in the way of muffs and beards, will they have flowers? I have some on order from a breeder for later this year, and I'm not planning on keeping them all, but I was just wondering. They're awfully cute right now, I'm happy I saved them from the overcrowded bantam bin and death by the completely unnecessary pasty-butt. I can't go near any place that sells chicks anymore, I hate to see them suffering but one can't save them all

Aww, she looks so sweet! Thank you for posting those photos!

I'm not really concerned about show or breeder quality, I just have them as pets. I am mostly curious as to how they will end up looking, as most of the photos I see online seem to be from very fancy breeders.

I love my girl I think she's beautiful. She had very nice wide foot feathers they were as wide as her body, but I had to trim them this wet muddy winter. She has a nice muff and beard. Idk if it's up to standards but it visable. My phone battery was to dead to take a bic of her face.. But I'll get one in a few. Phone charging now.

Be careful getting TSC D'ucccles...i got 7 D'uccles...only 2 are left. Since i brought them home they were huddled together like they were hypothermic, even having them in the hatcher where it is a constant 90+ degrees they still wanted to be huddled together...the two that are left are always huddled together like their cold. Several also had pasty butt, so either the one from privett/townline are very weak this year or this ones were because of delayed shipping, they arrived to TSC at 3 days old when it was still very cold.
