D'uccle Thread

Here are my four babies, now at about months old:I got lucky, looks like three pullets and one cockerel. Lots of black on the girls though, we'll see how they turn out. The last one is the onle with the strange white wing and tail feathers. Not sure what that's about.....

Hi all! I'm wondering if someone could give us some advice?

My daughter has some 8 week old Mille Fleur D'uccles. We discovered weeks ago that the only pullet has a deformed foot - her outside toe is turned under and she walks on it. It wasn't causing problems or an open wound of any sort. Well, now we notice she's limping badly on that foot and often holds it up. Again - I can't see any reason it's causing problems now (besides the obvious!) and have no ideas on how it could be fixed.

What do you think - can she make it? We're going to put her in a small cage with another bantam pullet to keep an eye on her for a few days.
WOW. I have the EXACT problem with my 9 week White D'Uccle. I can't see anything seriously wrong other than the one toe is kinda curled under? Same thing....slight limping and holds the foot up occasionally, when standing. I will be anxious to read what others have to say.

try putting shoes/boots on them to straighten the toes out theres threads on here about making boots for a chicken
Is 8 weeks old too old to do that? I'll read about it and see if we could make that work. That toe seems totally smashed and turned under, though. It almost seems that trying to undo that would really hurt it.

So heres my mystery colored D'uccle finally starting to really fill out:)

Here are my 2 Mille cockerels. Im not so sure the black is gonna fade out.....if it doesnt I may have to get rid of this little guy:(

And heres my Mottled Hens!

And last but not least 1 of my 3 mottled Cockerels.

Haha, well both parents were Milles. They are decent quality but must have a hidden gene of some sort. I got a couple of these light colored out of like 15 total and kept only this one luckily to have it be a hen:)
