I love Saxony it's not a breed we see on BYC often and it's a shame because they are gorgeous ducks. Maybe they just need a little advertisement to get the word out about them. Thanks Sumi!

Another I'd like to add to my list of wants.
I have saxony! I love them. They are super silly. Very pretty. My female is very loud. The drake is still getting his adult feathers. I will post pictures shortly. I breed mine as well as show. They are a rare heritage breed so they aren't easy to come across.

Oh thank goodness! I'm not the only one with loud girls! I had come across some research that Saxonys were supposed to be a quiet and calm breed and my first thought was " you never met my girls". All 3 are loud when they want something or just feel like they are not getting enough attention, but for the most part pretty quiet. But one in particular, Queenie, is loud everyday and demanding. All 4 of them are hilarious and always seem to be having fun. Constant source of entertainment from my Saxonys.

Yeah, my female is very loud. Her and her mate are funny as well. They run all around the run outside and jump in puddles and spread thier wings. It's funny watching them waddle around and chase each other. The drake is more quiet and is getting his adult male feathers so I'm sure he is a little grouchy now.

These are my babies. I currently have 4 girls and two boys, in this picture the girls are all lined up in the center. From front to back, there is Sassy(Welsh Harlequin), Duchess, Queenie, and unknown(haven't come up with a name for her just yet) Cayuga male on the left is Duke and the Saxony male is Prince. I did not order my Saxonys, they were mystery babies when I got them. I was originally told that they were Pekins and they are obviously not, but I love them. I can't believe that they are not more popular.
