Duck egg air sac/humidity, am I doing this right??? (pictures attached)

sounds like a plan! :clap

One thing I do is draw a quick vertical line on the side of the egg that I place up, so after they start hatching, I can tell if any get rolled. It’s not necessary, but when doing everything else, it’s a good opportunity to do it.

I also don’t decrease temperature, but it’s ok to do so, if you want. I’ve read that it has benefits, I’ve just only done it once and never bothered again.

I feel a bit nervous, but excited for you! Now is the time to plan some things for the next few days. House cleaning, Netflix binge watch something, a captivating book? Otherwise you will be checking the incubator every ten minutes.
Confession, I try to watch tv, but every commercial prompts a trip to the incubator room :p

Oh yes I'm right in the middle of taking out tray and adding water so I'll mark a line. I tried to get the dip up even if it was hardly a dip :hmm

I still see movement in all when candeling, two have done a little rocking.. and just can't tell if the other one has pipped but looks to be active still

Wish i had pointed out earlier, but if the air cell doesn’t dip much, look for a solid area of darkness, up close to the air cell edge. That should be the back of the neck, and should place that side down toward the floor. If you didn’t, they can still turn at this point, so don’t worry about it.

Good MOrning! or afternoon I should say :)

Ok so .. no major developments since yesterday. I checked - not opened, but looked inside to see if anyone rolled and temp/humi- last night around midnight my time and nothing changed as far as I could tell. --- I opened this morning to add water and candle quickly and still no internal pip that I can tell!? The air sacs in most including the most active one have moved down and I am worried the one air sac could be getting too big? I'm adding a video that I took just 15mins ago at 9am. I dont hear any peeping either so is she getting stuck/shrink wrapped or am I freaking myself out .. how long from first noticeable pushing on air sac to internal pip ..

I will assist if need be ... bbuutttt.. thats my problem is I dont know enough to tell if I actually need to or if shes taking her sweet ass time :barnie and am afraid to do more harm than good

I just feel like I can't see a definitive bill shape in there like most pictures I see .. I see what looks like one but not through the air sac yet

... now to try a video again ..

Looks like good movement to me! Doesn’t quite have her neck all the way down in the bottom of the fat end of the egg yet, so I’d give it more time.
I think you will see an internal pip soon, if it hasn’t happened yet. Sometimes it’s hard to tell unless you move the light all the way around the egg, shine from all directions looking for a shadow inside.

OK I was a little nervous there. Is there an easy way to tell me how you can tell that her neck is not all the way down yet.. what am I seeing in the vid? Just so I can keep learning and to know what I am looking at? Sometimes I find googling or digging through the depths of the internet I get more confused than when I started :lau

next time I check I will shine the light from all directions maybe that will help
