Very pretty, I see what you mean about the molting. My birds don't usually do it like that. I want to grab 7 Golden's and White Layers but my other half is very much against it and prefers to stick with chickens. We'll see, might be able to negotiate a deal lol
 
Ducks are the best! However, in hindsight, I will say one thing that I did not consider. If you are planning on hatching another generation, Golden 300's might not be the best; since they are hybrids, they lose some egg laying capabilities in the next generation. From the Metzer Farms website: "We do not know for sure but our guess is the progeny will lay 5-8% fewer eggs than the birds you purchased from us".

Which is not that significant but still something to consider. They are great birds and I love all 13 of mine (4 of which are 2nd gen). Very consistent layers as well.
