Duck Eggs in Lockdown - Peeping but no pips?

Adorable babies! Congrats!!

I personally think the wrong ender will get out fine on its own. That's a decent pip, just watch for the membrane to start turning brown. You don't want that. As long as it stays white/gray and moist looking, the duckling should be fine.

When you get the last 2 out, check the air cell on the wrong ender, and see if the duckling has invaded that area, or if it's still intact.

Can you get the duckling to react to noises?

You could also apply a little coconut oil or Vaseline to the wrong ender on the exposed membrane. Just a very thin amount. Avoid where the membrane is actually split.

What do you mean? The duckling who pipped the wrong end, I can see her breathing because just a little bit of her beak is out.

That's great. And purplish color is fine too. That's moist, and means he can still make movements, even though you may not see him moving much. When they get stuck is when it turns brown and dry. I'd give him more time.

The wrong ender continues to pip a bigger hole and has mostly moved all the membrane out of the way but I wouldn't call it zipping... the other one has similarly made a pip, not on the wrong end, but it is not where I marked the air cell on the fat end...

The air cell will "draw down" when they start getting into hatching position, even lower than the last tilt at lockdown. So its possible that its still in the air cell.

The black line was made at lockdown, this was right before pip.

I don't know if I'm just being super impatient or what... the wrong ender has not made the pip any bigger and is 'crying' in there. The other one's membrane started turning brown so I made the whole a little bigger just to make sure it was getting air and also so I could make sure it was breathing/moving in there... there was a little bit of blood around the corners so I didn't touch it anymore. I can see something through that hole, but it doesn't look like a beak... I'll upload pictures in a bit.
