Duck hardly walking and eating

A few weeks ago, my male, 3 month old Pekin duck was attacked, not sure by what. He had a broken wing(almost healed now) and a large wound that was Infected. The wound has healed, but a few days ago I noticed he looked skinnier than usual. Then he stopped walking around, and now he’ll barely eat. I don’t want to lose him after everything else he’s been through, and my female duck will be devastated. Any help is much appreciated, and if it seems like I left something out please let me know! Sorry to hear about Poptart.

Could you give us some more information about him?

What is he being fed? Has he had any problems prior to his? What's his run/coop area like? What have you done to him so far, in the lines of care for his current condition?

What needs to be addressed first is the anorexia going on. I would highly advise that you start tube feeding him to take care of his current condition, then we can move onto what the underlying cause may be.

To tube feed a duck, you'll need the following.

Parrot baby feeding formula (Kaytee is a good brand). You should be able to get this at your nearest Petco or PetSmart. If not, it can be ordered online.

You'll also need a large 60ml syringe. This should be available at your local feed like TSC, or online.

A scale to weigh him on will also be needed.

Lastly, you'll need a tube to stick down his throat. A red rubber catheter works best, so try a medical store or pharmacy.

he is currently outside of his run, in a dog cage in my barn. He eats a bit, but is still extremely skinny. Iv given him probiotics and electro lights.

I’m not sure I could get those supplies, already spent over 200 at the vet a few weeks back. Is there any other foods I could entice him with? He loves strawberry’s, but will only eat a chunk or two when I offer them

A tube is going to cost you a few dollars, and so will the syringe. The parrot baby feeding formula will be ten to twenty dollars. The total price is very minimal, and you'll be able to sufficiently get food inside him.

Enticing him with food is fine, but is not going to get him in the condition we want him in now.

I got him eating and drinking more, he was definitely gaining weight. He was walking around and seemed a lot happier. Sadly, he passed a few hours ago.
