Oh my goodness! ! They are big!
I'm a little bummed about my Silkie eggs. Looks like only 11 out of 30 are fertile. It's still early but that's what I have so far. Once I know for sure the others aren't going to grow I will open them up to see if they infertile or just early quitters. They did have a rough shipment it looks like.

Yup wait a little longer and some more may surprise you!

I have one of 3 call ducks out so far! Expect the others out by tomorrow night, this one was backwards and was able to externally pip but I had to break the shell. Boy I broke that shell and he shoved his little head through it so fast!! Lol

He was probably so thankful for some fresh air! I hear call ducks are hard to hatch. I'm crossing my fingers and really hoping that more pull through! Almost all of them have detached air cells. One even has bubbles. =(

They can still survive with detached or loose air cells you may have to help some of them out. From what Ive heard ones with bubbles will not survive.

Ya I've heard that too. It doesn't look like anything is growing in that one but I have it marked and I'll give it a little more time. I'm always hesitant to toss eggs even with very bad circumstances. My last hatch I incubated laying them down. This hatch I'm doing it in cartons because of the air cells. I hope all of the ones that I know are fertile hatch. Post a picture of your call duck. =)

Two now!! And yes call ducks are hard to hatch. They are a lot more sensitive to humidity and if there's too much, they won't absorb their yolk and usually die. If there's not enough they can't break the shell alone. Last hatch, my humidity was too high, this time, just a tad too low, BUT I much prefer it!!! They were ready to come out and just needed me to crack the shell, fully absorbed beautiful babies!!!!
