Duck issue please help

I also keep a flock record of all preventative measures and illnesses none so far thankfully so can track problems and intervene accordingly before get out of control. Some things if highly contagious or quickly spread to flock may need coop/run clean out and treatment for entire flock to prevent spread. Just things to think about.

Ya know when I first saw that I thought mange...then I thought treatable.
Well I’ve treated a dog with mange. So Favus is like mange for birds ( I think simple just me).
It’s scary looking but there’s something you can do about it topically. It will take some work but at the very least it’s encouraging to give her some relief.
I’m thinking the athletes feet cream. If she were my duck that’s what I’d do. Being careful of the eyes. Don’t know about the bill/mouth though. Is it just around the edge or has it progressed to the soft tissue of the mouth?
I certainly hope we didn’t scare her off. There’s a lot to be learned from this precious duck. Her story could help other ducks and @yumachick2015 wouldn’t have to shoulder this alone.

For burrowing mites, veterinarians will suggest ivermectin or moxidectin.

I mean this in the nicest way possible. IMO, putting Vaseline could make it worse because it will trap all fungi and bacteria under it. :( The problem with burrowing mite infestations is that they can also have secondary bacterial infections, so something like Vaseline could make that worse.

I’m wondering about swimming/bathing. If the duck has access to swim water, and any kind of cream is applied topically, I think I’d try keeping her out of water for a bit.
I agree.

I enlarged the pictures so everyone can see them better. At first I assumed that this was a Muscovy, but it's not. It also looks like whatever it is could be affecting it's bill too.
