Wouldn’t have thought that would over heat them. What are your outside temps? Small brooder box maybe that was the problem. Wait you said malfunctioned what do you mean by that? And do you have one side for heat and the opposite side with out?

I said malfunctioned as I was using the brooder for 4-5 months and it over heated for the first time
 
Can I give this to my ducks?

Brief respite from winter today with the temps in the high 40’s Fahrenheit. Ducks finally ventured outside! Time for some intense bathing, although my white Muscovy was perfectly happy using her drinking water still, despite a bigger bin being available. They ran wild a bit. It was good to see! ‘Scovy molting is 95% complete, with my pied girl finally able to fly up to roost. Daphne’s looking rough, but feeling fine!

They are beautifull! I hope mine look that nice someday
My drakes came out of their late summer molt with some very rich color. They also are pretty plump from free ranging year round and eating all the fish , frogs and anything else they can find in the pond.
Because this is Florida - there are always plenty of bugs too.
