Duck not eating or moving!

this Morning he is so weak, he can no longer stand and seems to loose his balance just laying down. I found a patch by his oil gland with no feathers around it like he had been pulling it out and the oil gland looks kinda yellowy green does this mean anything? I don’t think he will make it to our vet appointment.

also their are only 4 ducks in my flock and he is very closely bonded with the girl in that picture, if he does go to heaven what will that mean for her because they hang out togeather without the other ducks, will she be grieving?

Oh no
Yellow I have seen but not green
He could have an infection and probably needs antibiotics
Ducks hide illness till near the end so it’s very hard to know
If he can make the vet make sure to tell them about the green at his oil gland
He could have been picking at it if there was infection
As for your other ducks she may get lonely but as long as she has the other crew she will move forward
My daisy lost her sister and then she got very close to my drake now
Those two stay back a bit from the other ducks and never ever go anywhere without the other one but will mingle with the rest

he laying down with his eyes closed and i only know he is alive as he is breathing slowly.

Anyway yoy could call them and ask to bump it up
Tell them how bad of shape he is in ?

We are taking him to an exotic vet in an hour. got him inside with me for now.

we just cancelled the other vet and are travailing an hour away to get to this exotic vet, hopefully they can help him

We are on our way home from vet with Syringe to feed him with and antibiotics as he has nerves system bacteria infection. Vet said it is sort of 50%chance of him recovering

I'm glad you have a diagnosis and treatment, now all we can do is hope and wait
