Absolutely beautiful! Do you have a different area for them at night or are they always in here? I ask because I have 2 pekin and a swedish blue and a kiddie pool....the mess from their poo gets all over my yard and they get water everywhere which turns to mud. I'm trying to figure out how to keep the area grassy & clean!

You could have a house for them, then let them out. I'd go out there and do a touch up if you want it CLEAN, do a touch up clean in the pen either daily, to weekly.

The set up below is for ornamental ducks not domestic large ducks. Ornamentals need aviaries and live in them 24/7 or will fly away. Domestics can be housed in "dog house" style home with ventilation and a secure door to be locked inside of at night. Then they can be in a fenced yard during the day with a kiddie pool.

Here is where my ducks live when they've feathered out. There is no longer electricity going to the pool. It is inhabited by bullfrogs and dragonflies and such. I am wondering how I can minimize the amount of "duck muck" that will accumulate and shift the balance of things. Will I need an aerator or a pump or just periodically drain some of it off with a sump pump and top it off again with well water? Can anyone advise me please? It has for the past 15 years been a "cement pond".
