Duck severely bullied and injured

Boy she really got those feathers ripped out. Someone posted a video yesterday of 2 female KC one on the other. The one underneath being very submissive it's interesting almost makes me think of frustrated females. No drakes and hormones are high.

Yes that's exactly the behaviour mine do!
Pebble has always been very submissive... even to the chickens!

Yes I suspect she was just hurt- it’s beginning to look like a scab or a blister

The issue is that I have no drake and all my ducks are female?!?! Sometimes my other cherry tries to mate with her, but I have never really thought about it before
The others were shouting for her all day and she was replying from inside

If it's beginning to look like a scab or blister, I would take a guess one of the others pecked at the vent. It does happen with chicken, I know Ducks have a rounded bill but if pinched, I can see where it might damage (bruise? blister) that delicate tissue.

I'm glad that her back is healing. Hopefully with your wonderful care she will recover in no time.

I'd give her a small space with in the coop so they can visit, not sure I'd let her out just yet with the group. Try it while you can supervise so you will be able to stop something fast. After what she just experienced She sure doesn't need for it to happen again .
