Ducking help!

It’s feet are darker then the other ducklings and any of my ducks

Sure looks like it could have Cayuga in it so black and pretty. What a beautiful mix you have. mama doing a good job? She’s beautiful too! Do you already have homes for the ones your not keeping? It’s so hard for me to let them go once they hatch.

This is so exciting! My friend has a mama who is about to be a mama to 9 ducklings! Keeping mama and babies separate from the other ducks will be your best bet and keeping the ducklings away from drakes(if you are keeping them) until the babies lay there first egg is always the safest too.

I do have homes but now I want to keep those two and I feel bad! I don’t think I can give up either of them now. Momma is doing well sat on another egg but I don’t think it will hatch

Sounds like a good plan! I would watch lots of video if you are going to do it by vent! It could really hurt the duckling if you are inexperienced.

Vent sexing is best done before 2 days old from what I have heard.
