Duckling Thread!

Pics
Here are 6 of them that I still have from that batch so you can see what they look like. They were born July 24, 2018. These pics where taken late last fall. They are my favorite colors! The bottom 2 are drakes and the rest are hens. View attachment 1729141 View attachment 1729142 View attachment 1729143 View attachment 1729137

Here is what their parents look like. The drake is the one in the top picture. The 2 hens sat on the eggs and raised the ducklings together. Thankfully they didn't fight over the ducklings and had no problems raising them together! :)

We had a little photo shoot this evening.:D It seems to have that runner look most of the time, don't y'all think?
Still can't figure out the little one...maybe a rare phase of some breed? Or are some yellow ducklings just a really light yellow? I'd guess Buff over Pekin if I had to say, but I don't see the eye stripes. But that one's definitely not a runner.

Those are some adorable babies! :love Do they have names yet? :)

No names yet, I'll wait to see if they're male or female. Plus it takes me forever to come up with names for pets, lol.
Don't you just love that little topknot? I've never had a crested duck before... barely even ever seen one in real life.
I love my Fran (crested Khaki Campbell)! Just gotta watch out during breeding season. ;)

I love the little topknot! I think it makes them all the cuter! :love

Who wouldn't?

I found out sad news- this breaks my heart.
Cayugas are now endangered due to how pretty they are because poachers kill them and skin them and hang them up on their wall like a bear skin rug. This is awful! Taking their life just for their lovely pattern on their feathers?! :hit
Source? I kinda don’t think that’s true....
