Duckling Thread!

Pics
Pics would help do they stand up straight maybe fawn and white Runners but unless we can see them hard to know. Where did you get them?
Sometimes they stand straight up but it seems like they all do at times lol. Not the best pictures, no one wants to hold still these days and the mud is BAD with all the rain.

My daughter has 2 Appenzeller Spitzhauben that think they are ducks. Someone local breeds them and they have grown up with our ducks. They follow the ducklings everywhere, sleep next to them, cry when the ducks leave them behind and occasionally jump in the pool for a swim. Had to rescue them a couple times when they were smaller- they don’t float like ducks ‍♀️

I have been to two TSC looking for the chick starter we used in the fall. All they have in the small bags is what they call organic with 19% protein. We are already cleaning once a day with only 5 ducklings. Last fall it was two weeks before we had to clean once a day with 9 . Still, not meaning to offend chicken people, ducks do no stink compared to chickens.
None taken. Because we all know chickens smell way better. :plbb
At least, when it comes to how the brooder smells.
I haven't started sniffing my chickens. YET.

I have both ducklings and chicks right now. Then chicks are only harder (and smellier) right now because indoors. My first time with ducklings and they are messier and stinkier if not kept dry but at least they can go outside sooner. I can’t wait until these baby brahmas can go outdoors.
Yeah. The ducks only smell because they make a mess.
