look at that baby

How long does it take for them to hatch?
It can take quite a while. They'll start zipping then rest, then start again. @WVduckchick can better explain what to look for as signs of trouble. Do you have coconut oil on hand? I keep a small container on top of my incubator so it's always liquid. Along with q-tips or a small paint brush. Right now there are no signs that you'll need it, but I like to be prepared. So where's our video?

She is an hr and 15min trying too come out. I can't keep my eyes off of her :love

We'll wait for @WVduckchick to advise you. I've jumped the gun on more than one instance. In the for what it's worth category, any vegetable oil will do. some are better than others and I really don't know why, but WV has saved a number of my ducks with her wisdom. I prolly pick on her too much but she's taught me so much.

@WVduckchick Every time you assist someone I pick up something new.

:hugs glad to help

Normally an hour, or just over. But as long as they keep making progress every few minutes, I don’t intervene. If they stop (once they start zipping fully) for more than 10 minutes at a time, I may break the top off for them. Leave it to push out of the bottom half of the egg on its own though.

Hopefully it’s out now anyway!
