Thats for sure! Those years of experience, especially concentrated in one field, can be equal a degree. That's the professionals in my opinion
Nothing like good experience to make you professional at anything!

I bet you could do it, think of it as a big pimple.Just thinking of things I would want to ask before I tried something like this. I probably wouldn't have the nerve to attempt it.
But I personally would not be able to justify a costly vet bill either.
Is their any possible way and infection like this could clear up with antibiotics?
Not likely. That mass in my opinion is too large for the body to absorb.Just thinking of things I would want to ask before I tried something like this. I probably wouldn't have the nerve to attempt it.

Yes, we should be able to try making an incision.
Also in response to an earlier question: We could take them to a vet if needed, but the only ones near us are very expensive so if it’s something we can treat, we’d rather not go to the vet.
OP hasn't replied back...Possibly we all should wait to see what they want to do.......
IMHO since the duck has been maintaining for a few days and doesn’t seem to be suffering, if the OP chooses to see a vet, and is comfortable waiting until after the weekend to do so, I would support that.Hopefully they seek medical help or put it down.![]()
Definitely up to the OP...IMHO since the duck has been maintaining for a few days and doesn’t seem to be suffering, if the OP chooses to see a vet, and is comfortable waiting until after the weekend to do so, I would support that.
It’s Sunday. And Super Bowl Sunday no less.
Where I live there’s only 1 avian vet who treats chickens on a very “occasional basis”.
They aren’t open on Sundays.
And the emergency clinic, while open, requires a large deposit and credit check up front to treat an animal.
Unless a licensed Vet is involved I do not take on things to cause an animal more suffering if the situation is serious.Following up to say I’m not quick to suggest culling.
The more I learn, the more patience I’ve developed to treat and reevaluate.
I hope you don’t feel judged because I’m not judging you in any way at all.Unless a licensed Vet is involved I do not take on things to cause an animal more suffering if the situation is serious.
I do cull and don't regret my decision.
