Ducklings are plodding around like they have lead in their feet

Ok. Now this is weird. I gathered some roly polys and earwigs and threw them in the brooder, to get the ducks moving and the the runners didn't do anything. My Khaki Campbell was beside herself with glee, zipping here and there. My big girl, Sage, just sat. :barnie

And get this, I threw some small earthworms in there, and even the Khaki Campbell didn't like them

I feel like I'm in an alternate universe!
They need to learn to eat things. Also just sitting in that Brooder isn't good. They need stimulating things to do or just sit there.

Your Momma so without encouragement they wait and do nothing. Duckling love to play and run around on grass.
Unfortunately, I don't have grass. Lots of plants, shrubs and trees, but no grass.

I'm puzzled, as my adult ducks got the same care, in the same environment. They were in the smaller tote for a week longer and got the same amount of outside time, but I don't recall they had these issues.

Check the date code on your bag.

This feed has more niacin than any other on the market, so you should be fine. Check the date code on the bag to make sure it's fresh.
Trying to find a date code, but I don't see one. I'd be really surprised if I got old food. This store tends to run out of Mazuri products quickly. It probably was not sitting on the shelf for ages. It also smells fresh, without that musty, rancid smell that old food has. The ducks are also growing quickly and seem healthy otherwise.

I'm thinking that Sage has too much weight for her legs to accommodate. How to mitigate that? Not sure.

How fat does she feel?
