Ducks and Geese Breeding?

Please don't think I'm stupid, but I was wondering if ducks and geese could inter-breed? I only ask because one of my young drakes was trying to get on top of my big Toulouse goose! I'm not sure that even if breeding were possible the poor boy could get the job done! I don't think that breeding between them could happen, just wondering.

They can 'breed', as in perform the act (or try to) but they won't 'cross'.

That's what I thought. I think for my drakes it will be all "trying"! LOL My 2 geese are pretty much the 2 in charge of the "gaggle", and probably won't put up with any monkey business!
