Hello. I am a new duck mommy, to two Muscovy females. However, I feel as though one is a boy. The more feminine one I think has been the one laying eggs recently. The first night they came home there was one egg in the morning. None after that single one. It has been about a month since she last layed that egg, and she has layed 3 eggs, but not today. Is that normal? I read online that they will lay a clutch and then sit once all eggs are layed, but is it normal for her to skip a day? Will she go back to laying? Also, is there a way I can tell if the duck I have is a Drake? (Pictured is the one I think might be male)

I went out to open their coop and found her sitting on the nest. Not sure if she was laying or actually getting broody. If so, she’s sitting on 4-5 eggs!

Muscovies generally have larfe clutches (10 or more) eggs before they go broody. You will know, she will be "mean" acting.
How old are your muscovies?
