Right - that wouldn't be good. I know you're monitoring it...wonder if something like the vinegar flush @Bleenie mentions in this thread would help if you notice water sitting in there: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/common-muscovy-health-problems (I know Dandelion's a crested, and doesn't have an ear infection, but the approach still seemed potentially applicable). The part about vinegar being drying was what caught my attention. There are products that are designed for cleaning dogs' and cats' ears (and to dry the ear canal to prevent yeast infections), too, but I'm not sure about the safety of using them on ducks.

I guess this is really "putting the cart before the horse", anyway, since we don't even know that it actually will pose a problem. Hoping it turns out to be a non-issue!

this is Chester, Carrie and Charlie. Chester is cripple he is on the left he showed up on my door step with his body guard Charlie the goose. I believe he has a niacin deficiently when he was a baby. which is common around here people don't no and don't care. He gets around I spray him with the hose so he can have a bath but I have seen him get in the tub for a bath. I make sure he gets his treats away from the others. He seems happy he has gain weight and his body guard is never far from him. Carrie is a female duclair I feel bad she wants to breed with him and he can't . so she runs after one of the other drakes breeds and comes back to him. Chester has a forever home with me.

Welcome...and thanks for sharing your story. Your little fowl family seems well-adjusted and bonded - it's wonderful that Charlie is Chester's bodyguard!

And maybe Carrie and Chester will get together someday... The world needs more kindness like you've shown. May you all have long and happy lives.

You might try some good poultry vitamins make sure it has the B's in it. B's can help with neurological issues. Don't give up.
