Right - that wouldn't be good. I know you're monitoring it...wonder if something like the vinegar flush @Bleenie mentions in this thread would help if you notice water sitting in there: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/common-muscovy-health-problems (I know Dandelion's a crested, and doesn't have an ear infection, but the approach still seemed potentially applicable). The part about vinegar being drying was what caught my attention. There are products that are designed for cleaning dogs' and cats' ears (and to dry the ear canal to prevent yeast infections), too, but I'm not sure about the safety of using them on ducks.
I guess this is really "putting the cart before the horse", anyway, since we don't even know that it actually will pose a problem. Hoping it turns out to be a non-issue!
