Duckwing Leghorns

Pics
I'm at work so I'll keep this brief until I get home and can delve deeper into it.
You are referring to trying a Dark Brown Leghorn rooster x Creme Legbar hen?
Or are you referring to my original post which spoke about Silvers x L. Browns..If so which to which? In other works which color rooster to which color hen?

First what is going on with the European true breeding golden duckwings!

These birds are your basic light brown leghorns(e+/e+ s+/s+ co+/co+ mh+/mh+) but with autosomal recessive cream gene(ig/ig) I am not going to go in the the history on how cream ig/ig was introduced in to light brown leghorns but I would like to point out that Professor Punnett received blue egg laying crested Chilean hens from botanist Clarence Elliott in 1929. One of these hens led to Professor Punnett’s monumental discovery of the recessive cream color in poultry in 1931.

So what you need to introduce in your light brown leghorns is the cream gene from a donor with a very similar type to leghorns(just can't find them here in the USA), lucky for you the Cream Legbars have made their way to the USA, now bee in the look out for quality stock as some "cream Legbars" lines have been badly bred and even outcrossed.

here are pics of outstanding quality Cream Legbars

having found a good donor pair, what you need to start doing is crossing your best leghorn rooster to a quality CLB hen, this will produce F1 pullets that are none barred and carry one copy of autosomal recessive cream(Ig+/ig) taking it from there should be really straight forward.

Yes, but which Color Leghorn rooster?

This is a Creme Legbar Rooster that a breeder has posted a pic of,on their site in the Creme Legbar page they have.
It doesn't look like any of the Creme's I've seen before. I left them a voicemail to confirm if it's a mistake or if it is indeed a Creme.

This thread is a mess and what you're wanting is still confusing.
Breeding silver duckwing to gold duckwing won't produce any type of "golden" duckwing that will breed true IMO.
It will produce males that are in between silver and gold but that's about it.
Crossing in the cream gene from legbars is gonna get you to a bird that looks exactly like a cream legbar without barring. Not exactly my idea of "golden" either.
IMO it's gonna be hard to help until you nail down exactly what you're trying to produce without a pic of your idea.

What I'm shooting for is Golden Ducking Leghorns. If I get silver duck wings then I'll separate that line work on it as well. Some interesting ideas have been presented on this thread and I may indeed cross brown leghorns with legbars and see what I get with that so it's not a waste it's a process and I appreciate all the feedback. I'm the process of creating a spreadsheet to monitor and document the breedings and results and I will definitely post results on this thread.

I am just posting so I get alerts when the thread gets activity, thought I would share my most recent pictures of my hatchery quality Silver Leghorns. These are probably my most Beautiful birds. I also have Dorking's with the same pattern but that breed doesn't even come close to looking as nice as Leghorns.
