If you get a chance, ask her if she has even ever seen a rotten egg. And if she did, what color was it?

My vegetarian daughter witnessed one of chickens gleefully snacking on squeaking pinkies when we disturbed a mouse nest cleaning out the hen house. It put her off this hen's eggs for the rest of the Summer. Too much of a visual. She was 9. You'd think folks would grow out of that sort of thing!I've offered eggs to one friend and she asked what they ate. I told her and she shuddered and said no no no she wont eat any eggs if the chickens could have possibly eaten a bugs and things.
And I have had a praying mantis in a bag of organic greens. If folks only knew the conditions of the chickens that give you store bought eggs. That makes me shutter! So true, somewhere there's allowances for rat hair, etc. I had a whole spider in a can of pears once. Ewwwww....![]()
