What a nice little GSD pup. He will make someone a great best friend. GSDs are the best dogs ~ I have 2 now and have had others in the past.

I agree with the poster who suggested that if you intend to rehome him you should post on the rescue section on both www.germanshepherds,com and www.GermanShepherdHome.net Both websites are great sources for rehoming GSDs.

He's beautiful Kate and you are a sweetheart.

Were I a bit closer, that dog would already be settling into his new home.

So, I have been giving this some thought. There are definitely some takers for cutie pup...if only we were closer. Do you think there are enough BYC-ers in our paths that if moabite can't get him, then maybe we could play pass the puppy across the country to a home? I think he'd get confused, but he'd settle out once he was here.

.. and I guess I should look for a local dog that needs me. It would make more sense.

* edit: gritser can bring him when she comes down for winter!

There used to be a .... (yahoo group I think) .. rescue "train" thing .. where people would get a dog from one location to the next and end up moving them sometimes across the country to a new home ...

There has GOT to still be that group somewhere ..

**thinking**

OT - Can you imagine what kind of hissy fit the blue hairs in my Dad's mobile home park would have when I showed up with three GSDs and two cats (prob'ly have to sneak a silkie in too).
I think we gave a few of them heart attacks the last time we visited...with the harley.

My DSD lives close to Writer, but I wouldn't trust her to take care of a rock, let alone a special needs pup.

Wife is a little angry at me, but I let her do whatever she wants, so she owes this to me. She wanted a daughter and got her (best daughter ever!) and I want a GSD. I think the two will work good together. I want what is going to be best for the pup. I'm sure he will get along fine with our two pups.

The split faced one is Aspen, she is my stepson's dog and the Boston Terrier is Trogg Delight. Both are good dogs and I trust completely around the kids and chickens. I'm an avid hiker, woodsman and spend my time outdoors as much as possible. I think he would make a good ally for me and sentinel for my family and home.
I hope this works out but I know there are a lot a variables so I'll wait to see how this plays out. And thank you!

Aspen one needs a dog. What a face!

If the wife doesn't love the shep, then mail him to me.
I have never known a gsd that was not protective of the ones it loves. They smell 'bad' in a person, or they read their thoughts, I am not sure. He will make you feel safe.

DW (Darned Wife) laid down the law. I can have the GSP if she gets the house, kids, alimony, etc.

What ever happened to "'til Death do us part"? I'm still trying, but I do realize, that even if I get my way, she'll resent me and the GSP forever.

Okay Byc-ers! I am in North central Florida. I need to get that dog here. let's play pass the puppy! Who'll take the first fifty miles? And I think his name will be Gulliver, because he will definitely have traveled.

Okay, I need an update on the gsd. Did the vet get him scanned? Does he still need a home? My husband saw the pictures and agreed that we could give him a quality life. Everyone here is on board.
The hard part will be getting a dog train started. If you are willing to give it a try, I am too.

maybe there are experienced people here who know how to organize that sort of thing?

If times were not so hard, I'd have him flow here; but if I want to feed him and get him in with our vet, I can't waste that money on it.

so I will leave the computer running..................because i am excited
