dust bathing in chicken coop is that normal.

over weekend with the rainy weather few of my girls used the chicken run space for a bird bath. I'm using deep bedding method so wasn't sure how clean that bath can be. Should be concerned. they are normally free ranging this was first time I saw them in the coop which is 8 x10 with 16 chickens currently.

Chickens will dirt bathe in anything anywhere anytime.

There is no such thing as clean to a chicken. The run is a fine place to bath. Be glad you don't have a cat that poops in the chickens' dust baths like I have. There's nothing I can do about it.
