Both incubators and brooders should be thoroughly cleaned after each batch of chicks.

Well I know about now, but im saying both incubators werenbrand new and n clean

21 days, water, heat, it's the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and mold.

Ok, well I am deff going to clean them. I do each time, but still confuses me with them being brand new and clean .. still feel bad for the poor thing

Google yolk sac infection, that should explain it. What I read is that it's more common in artificially incubated chicks. I've also noticed that it's more likely to occur in chicks that don't hatch on their own. You helped this one, right?

Yes, it pipped a little low and couldnt zip. It had a hole but couldnt zip and started to shrink wrap

I am new to this; first chick hatched last night. Found it dead this morning. Is there anything I can do after the chick has hatched? Hen is sitting on the eggs, and a second one is starting to hatch, I hate to lose any more. Any advice will be much appreciated.
