E-Bay Eggs On The Way!

Well I'm just totally freaked out! Just moved my eggs from the turner to the bottom of the incubator screen for lockdown, and swear to God I could hear little chicks peeping at me! It's a wonder i didn't soil myself because so unexpecting this on the night of the 18th day.

Just went and checked a couple minutes ago, 2 of the Bresse eggs have hatched already on day 19! Plugged in my other incubator to stick these guys in till they dry out, wasn't expecting this so early. How exciting! :D

Nice colors. My lockdown starts tomorrow night.

See 2 more of the Bresse eggs have pipped. Don't see any of the other eggs planning on early hatch, just the Bresse so far. Isn't this kind of wierd? The Bresse eggs were shipped and all eggs put in the incubator the same day.

I had a mini class last night on lockdown - it goes like this

A distinct membrane line between the embryo and the air cell
The membrane will be tilted to one side in most cases
There will be no or virtually no amber (liquid) between the dark mass and the membrane
At this point you are 2-3 days from hatch

If you are a little late, you may also:
See a beak poked up into the air cell
Hear cheeping
At this point you are 1-2 days from hatch (It's true!)

Wish I had a second incubator - I would love to separate my blue eggs by the farm they came from.
Never thought about that before.
