Want to buy pair of turkey what should I do don't know where to look
I asked the blue team on "He Said She Said..." about the humidity, because I needed to know too. One (he has a Brinsea Octagon 20) likes 40 to 42, another 40 to 45. If you using a Styrofoam bater he said you might like 35. At 47 mine is high so I opened the vent more. I hope that works. What type of incubator are you using?
IDK, i really can't give you any advice. The main reason I bought a Brinsea with an auto turner was because it was easy. Set it and leave it. It does everything. I really don't have to worry or monitor anything except the amount of water and it tells me when to add more. it keeps the temp at 96.5, perfect for chicken eggs. Most of my hatches were 85% even with shipped eggs. When I bought it - I had an hour commute to work, so in 24 hours I could only monitor it for less than 5 hours during the day. That said, with your incubator you will understand a lot more about the hatching process than I will.
Candled this a.m., day 10 . I hate these dark chocolate Marans eggs, they are so hard to candle, saw one that was definitely fertile and was able to tell i had 5 eggs not fertile, broke them open and was 100% right, 2 more still unsure about, and unsure about all the olive eggs, can't see do do in them either. Redhillranchpoultry sent me 5 of 8 unfertile Marans eggs, unfortunately i already gave them a good review on ebay, because i candled on day 6 and was hopeful and optimistic. I will no longer leave ebay comment on shipped eggs until after the 10 day candling.
On the bright and sunny side, i candled the La Bresse eggs last and all 8 of them are fertile and thriving!![]()
. Also, of course 21 of 24 of the local mutt/mixed breed chicken eggs i bought locally for $3 a dozen are all doing good, i'm happy about that too but so sad
about my Copper Marans being infertile. Thankful for my La Bresse thought,
forgive me Lord for complaining about the Marans, I'm thankful for the fertile ones that remain.![]()
I remember Bishop Jakes preaching on that one time, "be thankful for what you still got and quit complaining about what you lost". I always try to remember that.
