Earlobe changing colors

So my Roo Rambo is not yet a year old and for the past two months I've noticed this changing wattle, his behavior hasn't changed. He is active like usual, but his wattle just baffles me. One of our older hens had a similar wattle but it cleared up with molting... is that what this cold be? Has anyone had this happen?

Are you referring to his ear lobes? His wattles seem to be the same normal red color in both photos.

Ear lobes respond to hormone levels, changing color according to what particular breed the rooster is.
