Early molting?

I have six Buff Orps who are two years old and molted last fall. We had a heat wave a couple of weeks ago (it's since cooled considerably) and they haven't laid an egg since. Also, they seem to be going into another molt, losing copious amounts of feathers. Is that what they're doing or is something else wrong? They aren't free range, they don't have parasites, I feed them lots of protein and calcium, so I can't figure what else it would be. Is there anything I can do to get them to start laying again?
