Anyone in a 60 mile radias of Madison (South Dakota) have any Silkie Roos they might want to sell? A friend of mine is looking for a Black or a White Roo to replace her current/former Rooster.

Thanks Amy, I will pass that on to Katie. Perhaps she will contact you about yours. Either way, thanks for the leads.Ken Splett and Nancy Wicker are in that neck of the woods and have really nice birds.... Ken is down by Freeman and works in Mitchell. Nancy has to be fairly close too and is the new SD state rep for the ASBC.
I might have a couple of decent young white males in the older baby pen. They are only 2-3 months old though and wouldn't be ready to breed til fall. I'm about 2 hours straight east of Brookings, but I have my brother who makes regular trips out to Sioux Falls.
I think they are very cute. However, my flock is basically a "utility" flock and I don't think they would fit with my needs. I also try to avoid breeds that are good flyers as they tend to roost in the sheds and upset my husbandI guess what I mean is..
Is there anybody else following this forum, or in south Dakota, who has an interest in or keeps seramas? I have some and think they are just the friendliest birds!

They are very cute and with a friendly disposition who could resist. We have our ducks for that reason just a hobby.....they have free run of the place (yard). Do you have any pictures?I have mine in their own special coop to keep them safer. They are super friendly and just great birds, but they are more of a hobby.![]()
