Easter Egger chick colors?

Here's the best shot I could get of Sophia. She became very apricot in color. She has some pure white in her wings and her butt.

And here's Tiana... the real surprise! She went from a very light colored chick to all black and brown! Her head really changed the most from a pale yellow to all black.

I guess it just goes to show... EE's are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!

They both have been moved to my basement where the temperature is usually in the low 60's so I can get them acclimated for the cooler outdoor temperatures. It's about 45 for the high around here. This week I'm gonna start taking them outside for some playtime with my big girls so they can get assimilated into the flock.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I appreciate all the pictures and links...and hope they keep coming!

I won't be able to pick up any EE chicks until late February, when the local feed store gets chicks.

I'm still hopeful that I can pick out a couple girls that are not brown....

steny03, have you gotten your EE chicks yet?

When did Sophia start getting some color on her? My EE's are only a couple weeks younger than yours and my white EE (on my avatar) is still solid white.

You can see that she was getting darker colors on her wings at about a week old, that's the first to feather out. The black coloring on her head and neck only came about a week-and-a-half ago. As usual, her head was the last to feather out, so that was a real surprise for us.

Sorry, I was talking about Tiana and not Sophia in that last post, whoops! Just like Tiana, Sophia's head just feathered out about a week-and-a-half ago. She started to get some wheat coloring at about 2 weeks. The wheat color kept coming in darker towards her head from 4 weeks on until it starting coming on her head which was more apricot than wheat.

They are about 7 weeks old now. I hope to get them outside by the end of the month (at 10 weeks) so they can get better light. I can't wait for those blue eggs!

Thanks! My Angel Cake ( All my EE's have food names) has most of her head feathers already and it's still white. I think she may be the friendliest of my bunch :) I walk in the room and she tries to get my attention lol.
