Thanks! I wonder how hatcheries determine what to cross to get their EEs? I'm so tempted to call and ask them just out of curiosity, but the debate over Ameraucana vs. Easter Egger is so contentious I don't think they'd tell me lol !

I thought I had two Ameruacana hens but it turns out they are Easter Eggers. I have one that I bought as an Easter egger. Last year my darker shaded colored Easter Eggers where laying pale green eggs. Now I found a pale blue egg. Do Easter Eggers -- the same hen -- lay different colored eggs? I am a little confused.
I have 2 EEs. The bearded one, Bocktoven, is smaller and lays larger minty green eggs. The other non-bearded one, Chickovsky, is larger and usually lays smaller light olive eggs. The other day, she laid her 2nd supersized egg! I'm thinking it's a double yolker because her first supersized egg was a double.
